Horticulture and Design Questions

  • Ecological Horticulture is a movement that seeks to balance ornamental landscaping with environmental stewardship. It involves practices like leaving leaves and stems in place over winter, minimizing soil disturbance, avoiding pesticides, and planting with native plants.

  • Native plants evolved over thousands of years in the area they are growing in. They are particularly adapted to their region and have special relationships with native wildlife.

  • Gardening with native plants means you will be supporting pollinators, birds, and other wildlife in your neighborhood by providing food and habitat. It also means you’ll spend less time and money maintaining your landscape and enjoy year-round beauty.

  • Our garden designs use exclusively native plants and native cultivars-meaning every landscape we create is both beautiful and beneficial. We are here to educate and inspire, offering homeowners all the tools they need to maintain ecologically-minded gardens long term.

  • We offer full garden design services for a section of your landscape or entire property. This includes initial concepts, one round of revisions, a full-color final design with plant list, materials, and planting plan.

Additionally, we offer extended consultation services for those with more in-depth gardening and horticulture questions. Think of this as your own private garden coaching session.

We do not offer installation or garden maintenance, however, we work with trusted landscapers to facilitate full install and maintenance plans if requested.

  • We offer a free 30 minute consultation for those interested in design services. After this initial conversation, we’ll provide a transparent quote with no hidden costs.

  • We are driven by a passionate belief in the power of gardens. We bring warmth, education and creative energy into every interaction. Our designs are hand-drawn works of art and our only goal is to inspire home gardeners to embrace native plants and ecological horticulture.
